I took over Ohio Sea Grant’s Facebook account full-time in January 2020 after the departure of our Digital Outreach Specialist, and managed it until November 2022. During that time, I consistently maintained growth and engagement by posting not just information that we want our audiences to know, but also information our audiences want to know from us. In addition, scheduling of ongoing campaigns like Meet Us Mondays helped us re-use older content in new ways and made it easier to maintain a regular post schedule.

Within the first three months of taking on the account, I was able to increase our organic reach more than nine-fold, and added more than 50 followers in the same time period. This account has always been smaller than the Stone Lab account because it targets fewer audiences overall, but our highest-reaching post in that same time period still appeared to more than 11,300 people.
