Freshwater Science Webinar Series
Freshwater Science webinars present Ohio Sea Grant and other research from universities across Ohio to the science-interested public in easy-to-access half-hour presentations.
Through established relationships with many of our funded researchers, I was able to create a suggested schedule for 2022, adjust it based on input from our leadership team, and lock in the entire 2022 speaker line-up over winter break, putting together a successful January webinar in just three weeks. I led all production tasks for the 2022 events, from marketing and outreach to speaker scheduling and accessibility checks for the video archive.
“Christina did an incredible job creating the webinar series’ format and name, organizing the speakers, webinar logistics, and survey, following up with everyone to make sure webinars were set - all organized in less than a month. This shows not only just how good she is but how respected she is by how quickly the researchers responded to her requests.” - Jill Jentes Banicki, Assistant Director for Communications, Ohio Sea Grant and Stone Lab
During my tenure in 2022, webinars reached 80-150 attendees per session, with 150-400 registrants each month. When I left Ohio Sea Grant at the end of 2022, the newly created series-specific email list included 943 subscribers, and the 2022 archives had collected almost 1800 views.
The series also provides an internship opportunity for a senior in Ohio State’s Moving-Image Production Major, who produces short teaser videos we use in advertising the event and in other research communications.
